Rafting Down the Blackfoot River

Is it Hot Yet??
Out here in the Rockies,
sometime in July every year - most of the ground vegetation turns from the
beautiful greens of spring and early summer to your summer fall version of basic
brown.   Plants, fish, and animals all go into slow and expend as
little of energy as possible mode.  This year in my area we have had a long
string of very hot 100+ days that puts a strain on all living
things.  

The fire danger is
extreme and the smoke from the fires to the west have already hazed over our
dark blue skies.  Where different parts of the country have their hurricane
season or tornado season - we have the fire season.  

One of the best ways
to beat the heat is to go rafting or tubing down the rivers.  In the last 2
weeks I have been rafting on three different occasions.  Sipping a ice cold
beer with your feet dangling in the river as you float down the river watching
bald eagles, ducks, geese, beavers, and the obligatory nude beach(s) - it truly
does not get any better than that.
